Pre-Race Ceremonies included the traditional Zeppelin fly-by, a Strupfenbendzer yodel & a Polish lap tribute by none other than the Polish Prince himself in Paddy's NASCAR. It was a special day.
The Polish Prince made history by driving the legendary shamrock clad car with both hands in his pocket. The Prince took the checkered flag as the Die Drindles sang a lovely rendition of 'O Canada'.
The start of many heats - fortunately the field was spared a catastrophic failure although many saw a mild drop in performance - but none more so than John B. in his TAKA-Q entry which took the early race lead in record speed only to fall behind the pace of both trailing Porsches later in the race.
The Marlboro Porsche gobbled up top spot with its steady pace having survived several race incidents. Pole sitting Porsche #81 lost boost and one headlight in an early morning collision but managed to bring home a podium finish.  Jaguar took 4th after fighting past the West Lancia later in the race and looked stronger as time drew to an end. The West Lancia did Paddy proud with a solid 5th place finish. Pete did come within striking distance that night but in the morning sun Bill B's Porsche regained its earlier race pace and marched away. Both Mike V. and Marek held station in their Porsches.

Presentation Ceremonies with Fritz Stroebl handing out the wreaths - Kevin (1st - centre) John B. (2nd - left) and Art (3rd - right). Bill B. was the lucky dog winning a Pete's light kit from DArthobbies.com. Congratulations to all entrants for their determination and perseverance making this one of the most exciting races ever held at the Ring! Many thanks to Kevin W. for marshaling and BBQing throughout the day! Spectacular racing, good food and many laughs with great friends - definitely a race day to remember! Cheers! - Art
